Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman, Director of the Psychology Department and Director of the Center for Public Policy Research is a professor at University of California Davis. Her name is well-known for her pioneering modern research of the memory of children as eyewitnesses as well as the role of children victims in court settings. Professor Goodman, who has many research publications as well as numerous grants she is also the winner of a variety of international and national distinctions. She has advised a variety of administrations and agencies across the globe on policies and studies pertaining to the treatment of children victims by the legal system. She serves as consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center) of the Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She holds memberships in many professional organizations, like the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. She was a founder member of the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research into Child Development as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She was president of the American Psychological Association's Developmental Psychology Division and three Divisions of the Child and Family Practice and Policy Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology.
