They encouraged her not to play music only to have fun or to aid in growing, but that she must explore it. They encouraged her to compose. In addition to Bjork as well, she mentions Leonard Cohen as an influence. After her mother said that the songs she wrote were not meant to gain fame for her rather to help individuals to recognize the importance of their work and influence on our world at large, she began singing them in public. Her mother suggested that she sing her songs in public so that people can see their own importance and how they impact the world. The fact that she was a musician wasn't known by her family until she was fourteen. Aurora never dreamed of becoming a star. Her sole passion is to write music. Music is her favorite way to feel anything.
